TGIF Parish Friends!!

How is it already August?! This summer has FLOWN by and I cannot believe that school is about to start next week!! Today, we wanted to share some exciting news with everyone… Ashley and Barrett are selling their house and are moving on to their next adventure!! You might have already heard through the grapevine or on Ashley’s instagram, but we wanted to officially announce that 1215 Felder is on the market! :) This house is truly amazing and Ashley has put so much TLC into it, making it the ultimate Cloverdale Cottage! 1215 Felder is located in the charming and historic area of Montgomery, known as Old Cloverdale (for those of you not in Montogmery!!) and with it’s 2300 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a wet bar, and a cozy little back yard it is the perfect house for a new family!! We hope you enjoy the reveal of Ashley’s “after pictures” and if you are new around here, make sure to check out our older posts that show the renovation process… here and here!!

Have a great weekend!

I hope everyone has had a great week. I know that I am welcoming the weekend with open arms. It has been quite the week for my husband and I and I am honestly ready to see this week go! For a little preview of what’s been going on with us… let’s just say that we have had to have a plumber come by to fix a sink that fell out of its mount which of course spiraled into many other things happening! So again… TGIF!!

Today I thought it would be fun to do a “splurge vs. steal” post because let’s be honest who doesn’t love a good deal! I know I do! I wanted to highlight a few pendants because they are so popular right now!

 The Lantern Pendant

Splurge vs. Steal: Option 1 is from Overstock for only $125.99 and Option 2 is from Circa Lighting for $1365.00

The Drum Shade Pendant

OB-blog 2

Splurge vs. Steal: Option 1 is from Overstock for $106.15 and Option 2 is from Robert Abbey for $825

The Polished Metal Pendant

OB-blog 3

Splurge vs. Steal: Option 1 is from Lowe’s for $210.80 and Option 2 is from Restoration Hardware for $469.00

There are tons of other places to buy inexpensive lighting if you are on a “decorating budget” …. (like me!!)  You can look online, at estate sales, fleas markets, and other local shops in your community! All of these options just go to show that sometimes you just have to do a little digging to find a great deal!!

Make sure you check back with us next week… we will posting some exciting news as well as tips on “Drapery: Do’s and Dont’s”

Until next week!

Hi PARISH friends!

Today, we want to share one of our most recent projects with you! Our studio is filled with young women, and as much as we like to think that we JUST graduated from college…. It’s just not the truth. However… some things about college just don’t ever change- like FRATERNITY houses! They’re always messy, sometimes smelly, and usually full of handsome fun loving guys!

The Sigma Nu chapter at Auburn University is no exception! We have been enlisted to update the main living room and of course, had to share the nitty gritty details with you!

The Beta Theta chapter was chartered at Auburn University in 1890. They have been pledging great guys and winning numerous accolades ever since! One of our favorite alums is Ashley’s husband, Barrett! They (along with Cates and Rett) spend many football Saturdays at the house in the fall in anticipation for an AU win!

These are some of our selections for the new living room! Our primary concern in this space is DURABILITY! These guys play hard so our choices have been smart ones that will last many pledge classes to come! Every single fabric that we chose is washable! We have opted for deep, comfy sofas and club chairs to give the guys ample seating in their home away from home. This space will be used for studying as well so a large chandelier, sconces, and drum shades will provide plenty of lighting!

When selecting a color scheme, our intention was to create a timeless space that can be enjoyed by alumni and actives for years to come. Our favorite selection was the drapery fabric. What could be more masculine or southern than pointers?!

We can’t wait to show you some “after” images of the living room in the fall! We are so excited that these sweet guys will have a great new space to relax and enjoy their college days! We all wish we could relive ours!

See you next time!
