color me happy… (a work in progress!)

Happy Thursday PARISH fans!

It’s no secret that over the past few months, we have been busy little ladies!! We have truly been blessed with oodles of fun clients that make our jobs feel less like work and more like fabulous adventures! We truly love what we do! Today, we want to share some highlights from a “work in progress” that we can’t stop daydreaming about! Install day is just around the corner and we are thrilled!

This client (and friend) is one of our favorites!! She and her family (including 3 little boys) are all about playing and relaxing in their home and enjoying each other’s company. We wanted her space to be fresh, fun, and very livable…. and COLORFUL! This new home is filled with natural elements and textures including pecky cypress, stone fireplaces, exposed brick, and lots of dark hardwoods. Ashley has a special knack for knowing where to soften the space and where to really embrace the heavy finishes in order to make an impact.

OB-WISE 1
These are just a few of our selections for the Living Room! We wanted this space to feel very “easy.” As with every job, our main goal is to make the client happy and feel comfortable! By using slipcovers, minimal pops of color, and timeless patterns including ticking stripes (our favorite!), the space feels sophisticated and comfy. Three (yes three!) sofas and two swivel gliders will soften the room and serve as lots of seating for this sweet growing family!

OB-wise playroom

For a family with three boys under the age of 5, a fabulous playroom is a MUST! Who knew carpet tile could be so much fun!?! Long gone are the days of scary, dirty playroom floors… These tiles can be removed and replaced if they get a little too much love! We have a fun white (sunbrella) window seat cushion in the works that will have funky lime piping and will be topped with oodles of funky pillows!! We have no doubts that this space will be a hit with all of those sweet boys!!

These are a few of our selections for the kitchen! We loved the idea of a table top that could handle all of the spilled drinks, sippy cups, and daily activities that come with children… and ZINC was the answer! We paired this fun oval zinc table with french leather chairs in a fab persimmon color! The juxtaposition between the straight, stiff lines of the table with the curves of the french chairs is to die for… and the egg branch chandelier is the cherry on top! We cant wait to show you this finished kitchen!!

We hope you all found some inspiration for your next project! Have a great week and stay tuned for another job-in-progress teaser next week!

Holiday Quick Fix

Happy Holidays! I can’t believe it is time for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Since I am approaching the end of this pregnancy, I can’t go home to Louisiana… so, all the family is headed this way! I am super excited to host everyone. My extended family consists of two little ones so my immediate thought is, “How can I get my dining room ready for lots of sticky fingers and holiday eating?”

Seat covers are the perfect, quick solution to protecting your dining room chairs during the holidays or just sprucing up the chair bottoms you have.

Chair Before

These are some of my favorite seat covers. These just tie on to absolutely any dining chair. They don’t have to “fit” a certain size. And they are MACHINE WASHABLE and come in white and flax!! Soooo easy and only cost $60 each!

We are going to give away 2 of them before Christmas for one of our weekly Monday Giveaways so stay tuned! Or, let us know if you’re interested in ordering any!

GOING GREY

Grey is one of those colors that can be a little bit scary to work with. I guess it’s because its easy to think of grey as a boring color that you often see in a gloomy office space. Well… get used to it! It is such a great neutral. It provides drama, warmth, and impact.

Whites and golds are a great way to brighten up a gray room and keep it from feeling gloomy.

Throw in some stained wood to make it a little more traditional.

It’s also a good color for trim! It’s a little unexpected and can add some interest to a traditional space.

These bunk beds are just so fun! They went with grey walls, trim, stairs and I wouldn’t change it for a second.

Now for some rooms that definitely went for the drama factor…

That last one was the home of the AMAZING Bobby McAlpine. I mean… it doesn’t get much more spectacular than that.

Hopefully I’ve inspired some of you to step out of your comfort zone and add some grey to your homes too!
