Holiday Quick Fix

Happy Holidays! I can’t believe it is time for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Since I am approaching the end of this pregnancy, I can’t go home to Louisiana… so, all the family is headed this way! I am super excited to host everyone. My extended family consists of two little ones so my immediate thought is, “How can I get my dining room ready for lots of sticky fingers and holiday eating?”

Seat covers are the perfect, quick solution to protecting your dining room chairs during the holidays or just sprucing up the chair bottoms you have.

Chair Before

These are some of my favorite seat covers. These just tie on to absolutely any dining chair. They don’t have to “fit” a certain size. And they are MACHINE WASHABLE and come in white and flax!! Soooo easy and only cost $60 each!

We are going to give away 2 of them before Christmas for one of our weekly Monday Giveaways so stay tuned! Or, let us know if you’re interested in ordering any!

Grey is one of those colors that can be a little bit scary to work with. I guess it’s because its easy to think of grey as a boring color that you often see in a gloomy office space. Well… get used to it! It is such a great neutral. It provides drama, warmth, and impact.

Whites and golds are a great way to brighten up a gray room and keep it from feeling gloomy.

Throw in some stained wood to make it a little more traditional.

It’s also a good color for trim! It’s a little unexpected and can add some interest to a traditional space.

These bunk beds are just so fun! They went with grey walls, trim, stairs and I wouldn’t change it for a second.

Now for some rooms that definitely went for the drama factor…

That last one was the home of the AMAZING Bobby McAlpine. I mean… it doesn’t get much more spectacular than that.

Hopefully I’ve inspired some of you to step out of your comfort zone and add some grey to your homes too!

We are huge fans of home accessories here at Ashley Gilbreath Interior Design and Parish.  One of our favorite go to accessories are antique wine jugs.  We love love the versatility of them, and the old patina they add to a room.  They are a perfect way to introduced a subtle hint of color.  We loved to find the ones that have a touch of aqua in the glass.  If they have an old wine label, even better!!  Good news…we just placed an order for 8 of them!!  Get ready they come in quick, and sell even quicker!  Here are some of our favorite looks we have done with antique wine jugs.

The accessory of the moment.

Perfect tabletop display. No water needed!

We love finding the deep emerald green bottles. They were the perfect accent for this restaurant bar.

We love to have the wine jugs made into custom lamps. The pleated linen lamp shade is the perfect compliment to the lamp.

We also love the clear wine jugs. They were the right choice for this sophisticated dining room.

We will keep you posted when the shipment arrives.  I would hurry if I were you!!  Have a great weekend, and check back Monday for a fun post from Ashley.
