BIG NEWS!! :)

TGIF Parish Friends!!

How is it already August?! This summer has FLOWN by and I cannot believe that school is about to start next week!! Today, we wanted to share some exciting news with everyone… Ashley and Barrett are selling their house and are moving on to their next adventure!! You might have already heard through the grapevine or on Ashley’s instagram, but we wanted to officially announce that 1215 Felder is on the market! :) This house is truly amazing and Ashley has put so much TLC into it, making it the ultimate Cloverdale Cottage! 1215 Felder is located in the charming and historic area of Montgomery, known as Old Cloverdale (for those of you not in Montogmery!!) and with it’s 2300 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a wet bar, and a cozy little back yard it is the perfect house for a new family!! We hope you enjoy the reveal of Ashley’s “after pictures” and if you are new around here, make sure to check out our older posts that show the renovation process… here and here!!

PARISH PICKS

Hi Everyone!!

It is such a nasty and dreary day here in Montgomery that I thought I would brighten up your day with our weekly series, “PARISH PICKS”! This week we want to spotlight all of the many uses of a tray. We have tons of trays in PARISH right now that are all shapes, sizes, colors, etc and that can be used in so many ways!

In my opinion, using a tray on a bar cart or on your wet bar is such a easy way to add a feminine touch to such a “masculine” area! You could use it to hold and organize your liquor bottles or even to display all the beautiful glassware that you have!

Trays are also super fun to display in the bathroom. I have a tray in my bathroom that I use to hold my perfume, my jewelry, a candle, and some other bathroom necessities… It is also a great way to free up some cabinet space and to include some fresh flowers!! I love both of these examples!

Similar to the bathroom, you can use trays on a vanity or a dresser in your bedroom… to display much of the same objects… jewelry, make up, candles, personal trinkets that are special to you…

Trays also serve as a great organizational tool especially in a room like your kitchen.  A neat idea is to make a “coffee nook” in your kitchen. I actually don’t drink coffee, but my husband loves it! It would be so nice if he had a little area designated just for his coffee and all things that he needs to go with it!! And you could also use a tray in a kitchen to hold cooking utensils, flowers, note pads for to-do lists, etc…

The most obvious place for a tray is the coffee table! The options are endless… you can use it for anything and everything! Some of my favorites are to hold magazines, books, candles, fresh flowers, your remote controls, coasters for when you have friends over, any special trinket that you want displayed… I am telling you the options are endless!!

I could keep going on and on about all the ways to use trays in addition to the ones listed above, but I don’t want to overload you today!! We have so many awesome trays in the store right now that would be perfect for any of the uses I described! Check some of them out below!

We have lots more to chose from at the store as well.. so come by and see us!! Hope you all are staying as dry as possible!

One of our favorite projects…before, after and current photos!

Hey everyone! We hope all of our friends out there are doing well! We’re getting spring fever around here. Once Valentine’s Day comes and goes I am completely over the cold and am ready for warm weather, sandals and porch cocktails at 5:00! One thing that helps with my summer time day dreams is looking through pictures from Ashley’s project a few years ago on Felder Avenue (it has the best porch for warm weather).

I know what you’re thinking…”Ashley has done multiple projects on Felder?” Yes….she has! Her current project is actually her third house to resurrect on that sweet little street here in Montgomery’s historic Old Cloverdale. When she took this particular project on, she was featured in Southern Living magazine!

Time passed and eventually Ashley and Barrett sold their home and moved on to other projects! I always tell Ashley she is like the lady with the cats…except instead of cats, it’s houses! Thank goodness she is this way because she is like a fairy slowly working her magic and turning around these old homes in our area!

One of our favorite clients bought this house and has made it her own. When I was looking at the pictures from when Ashley lived there and the ones from after the client moved in I was floored. They really go to show how design and client vision/lifestyle play into a home.

The current owners have lived there a few years and have decided to sell it! Because it is a home that means so much to us and Ashley, and we love the client so much, we thought it would be great to feature pictures of it before Ashley renovated it, after she moved in and what it looks like now with a different family living in it!

A little background info on this treasure and her renovation: One of the most appealing things about this property was it had hardly been touched since it was built.  The house has beautiful stained molding and large pocket doors, adding to its charm. When Ashley & Barrett  purchased the home, they knew the entire foundation would have to be replaced for the house to be level again.  Their fear was that the plaster would be irreparable after the structure was fixed.  They were right.  Ashley was adamant that this beautiful stained molding (the whole reason behind buying the house) stay untouched.

During the renovation, the following took place: completely new foundation, the walls of the basement were town down and rebuilt, new basement stairs, added brand new HVAC, it was completely rewired, new plumbing, all the floors were refinished , new roof, new paint, a new porch was added at the back of the house to match the front porch, all rotten wood was replaced, kitchen and baths were all renovated.

I’m sure you now see why this project was near and dear to Ashley…because it was a labor of LOVE! The following pictures were taken after Barrett & Ashley moved in!

Are y’all drooling?!!?! I am!! Like I said before, when the current owners moved in they changed the look up drastically! It is still just as beautiful, it just has a completely different look and feel!

See what I mean by drastic change?? I love both looks! Kudos to the current owner and her creative brain! Ashley and Amanda helped with paint colors, drapery and some furniture placement, but that is about it! Maybe we should hire her?! We love a creative mind over at AFGID!

This home is for sale and is located at 797 Felder Avenue in Montgomery, AL. If you have any questions or are interested in this home for your family, email me at Rebecca@afgid.com

Until next time!
