This bedroom belongs to one of our precious young clients. As a junior in high school, she was ready for a much more sophisticated bedroom. With a little paint and some great inspiration we managed to give her a beautiful, functional bedroom. Take a look…

Beach House – Before & After

This summer we worked on a house at Rosemary Beach for some of our favorite clients. It was full of dark wood molding and was purchased fully furnished with plenty of Texas Longhorn orange (maybe if it were Auburn orange it would be ok — just kidding). We used some of the existing furniture as well as some from the client’s previous house and some new pieces. The goal was to transform this fabulous three story house into what the client wanted…a light, comfortable, more casual and functional beach house.

ENTRY BEFORE

The entry was slightly art-deco and not super inviting.

ENTRY AFTER

A custom table, light rug, and beautiful lantern really warmed it up!

LIVING AREA BEFORE

Can you say dark?? - We were determined to break up all that wood!

LIVING AFTER

Drapery was the key!!

Light linens and textures really help make it more casual.

DINING BEFORE

So, so dark and lots of potential for more seating!

: A custom banquette provides A TON of seating and once again..breaks up the dark wood.

We lightened it up and gave it symmetry to help ground the space.

First we rotated the placement of the bed so that it is the focal point. Draping off the whole wall behind the bed allowed us to ignore the window and place the bed in the center of the wall. Art hung in front of drapery is one of Ashley's favorites.

THIRD FLOOR BEFORE

At least there's no dark wood?

We use the sofas from the Living Area Before to balance the space and brought the focal point to the windows instead of the huge TV.

Main goal - brighten and provide division between the two beds.

LOFT BEDROOM AFTER

The custom headboard and banquette really help this twin bed feel like it belongs.

We were so happy with the result! Hope y’all enjoyed!

PROJECT UPDATE

Welcome to the Baker renovation! This has been a fun project…taking a 1960′s ranch to 2011 timeless design. The general layout of the house has stayed the same. We have opened up a few interior doorways and closed up some. We moved a few windows around, took out the original lovely sliding glass doors and relocated some exterior openings. Kitchen and bathrooms have had a face lift. Take a look at the before and after floor plan and some of the pics of the original structure and the work in progress. The final pics are coming soon.
